The Center uses diverse music education programs and resources to serve music teachers, students and community members. Housed in Waunakee, WI the Wisconsin Center for Music Education is a catalyst for innovation and growth of music and arts education throughout the state. Wisconsin Center for Music Education houses Wisconsin Foundation for School Music, Wisconsin School Music Association, and Wisconsin Music Educators Association. The hub provides a state resource unlike any other in the nation and helps enhance music and music education in the state.
Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA)
Founded in 1932, Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, statewide association serving more than 3,500 music teachers and school administrators in the education of 220,000+ students who annually participate in the organization’s activities through their school’s membership. WSMA is a leader in providing programs and services that challenge youth to achieve excellence through music. Though best known for Solo & Ensemble Festivals, WSMA offers a variety of additional programs including State Honors Music Project, State Marching Band Championships, Student Composition Project and Concert Festivals.

Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA)
For several decades years, WMEA has served Wisconsin students by providing a sound music education through its members. Currently, more than 2,500 music educators across Wisconsin are active members of their professional organization because they want to make a difference in the educational atmosphere of our state. Every day, WMEA members demonstrate their commitment to music, music education and providing something of lasting value in the lives of their students through excellence in teaching, performing, service and advocacy. WMEA members are active educators, collegiate and retired members, and middle/high school student members of Tri-M.

Wisconsin Foundation for School Music (WFSM)
Founded in 1996, the mission of Wisconsin Foundation for School Music is to promote and perpetuate music education in the schools of Wisconsin and to assist in carrying out the educational and charitable purposes of Wisconsin School Music Association and Wisconsin Music Educators Association. WFSM’s goal is to support and increase the involvement of all youth in music education by promoting and supporting programs that demonstrate a significant impact on children’s perception of and activity in music. In addition, WFSM strives to encourage the study of music and music education by establishing and administering scholarship funds.
