Technology use in schools is rapidly growing. Districts, in an effort to capitalize on student interest and to create a vibrant, 21st century learning environment, are seeking new ways of incorporating technology into all classrooms. The sheer amount of technology, the various types, and variety of usages can at times be overwhelming. This one day workshop will cover the various technologies music teachers can use in their classrooms and ways to integrate them creatively into lessons. Areas covered will include computers/laptops, web 2.0 tools, cloud storage and sharing, iOS devices and Apps, portable recorders, and audio editing/sequencing software. Everyone attending the workshop is encouraged to bring their own technology and join in on the fun!

Michael Hayden is currently a music teacher for the Whitnall School District in Greenfield, WI where he teaches fourth through twelfth grade orchestra, middle school general music, information technology, and high school music production. He received his Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his Master of Music in Music Education from Northwestern University emphasizing on composition, creativity, and music technology. Mr. Hayden is also a technology trainer for his school district, a member of the iPad pilot team, and a frequent presenter on the topics of music production, technology integration, and classroom uses for portables electronics
